I remember my first $1,000 day online like it was yesterday…

I’d been trying to ‘crack the online marketing’ code for around 7.5 years.

I’d tried what felt like everything at that point.

I was frustrated.

Angry.

But….

Through it all, still determined to make it all click into place.

At the time I was running a digital marketing agency where I was helping local businesses generate more leads through ads….

Kinda like…

Modernize Out Of Home with AdQuick

AdQuick unlocks the benefits of Out Of Home (OOH) advertising in a way no one else has. Approaching the problem with eyes to performance, created for marketers and creatives with the engineering excellence you’ve come to expect for the internet.

I had quit my job in 2017 to pursue the agency and told my wife I would find a way to make it work no matter what.

The kinda silly thing was I actually only had one client at the time.

I’d go from a 6-figure salary in my job to making around $1k per month.

Tough times.

Especially two years after going bankrupt and having to start all over again.

Fast forward a couple of years and I decided to pivot (again).

This time to affiliate marketing.

It was tough going as the promise of easy riches really didn’t come quite as I expected.

Interestingly, I had started affiliate marketing in 2011 and hadn’t really left it alone. I’d just never simplified it down into what my current structure looks like.

Anyways, I believed I could simply ‘outwork’ everyone to make it all click into place.

The problem was I was doing a bunch of stuff, yet focusing on nothing that would drive revenue for my business.

It turns out a bunch of my 917+ students have had similar experiences.

Sooo many of them feel a massive sense of relief when we unlock the constraints and like that of a dam holding onto water, their results usually burst through shortly after.

The ‘fix’ for all this was actually super simple.

  1. I stopped promoting low ticket items and focused solely on high ticket offers paying $500+

This gave me a singular focal point and meant when I made sales I was getting paid well for my time.

Low ticket (under $100) works too, but if you’re starting out and don’t have a big audience the math don’t math.

  2. Out of all the hundreds of ways to convert a lead into a customer, I narrowed in on one. I stopped trying umpteen different funnels and VSL’s and webinars and just focused on one.

Robert Greene has a brilliant quote which captures this perfectly: “Intensity defeats extensity every time.”

  3. I stopped hopping from platform to platform. All of them have their plusses and minuses.

They all work with enough focus.

I dropped answering questions on Quora, I dropped trying to write and rank articles on medium, I stopped trying to grow multiple chatbot lists and having multiple Instagram accounts and twitter (woops, x) profiles and interest etc….

Instead I focused on building a community where I could serve people and help them out.

The results were crazy…

7 days after deploying my strategy I had my first $1k day.

Literally JUST 7 days.

It wasn’t a fluke. I had another the next day.

Things took off.

I’d have $5k, $10k and even $15k DAYS.

I scaled to $50k months.

We won an award for surpassing $1mil in just 14 months.

The point of all this is;

Keep business simple and free from headaches.

The more of this you can do, the easier it is to fix when things don’t go according to plan.

Likewise, the more you can focus on a few small levers in your business, the more growth can occur.

I hope you have a great weekend ahead! Hit reply and let me know what you’re working on. I’d love to see if I can help :)

Cheers,

Jamie
