A bit of a painful lesson you can avoid through my mistake(s)…

Sh*t house would be a good descriptor…..

So between 2011 and 2019, I tried and mostly lacked in success in a bunch of stuff.

  • Blogging

  • CPA marketing

  • Selling websites

  • Selling stuff on eBay

  • Creating kindle books

  • Selling stuff on marketplace

  • Setting up shopify stores

  • Building email lists

  • Building chatbot lists

  • Posting flyers on UNI campuses

  • Affiliate marketing (again)

  • Writing on medium

  • Running ads for small businesses

  • Creating a youtube channel (now onto my second one after the first one was banned after 70+ videos).

  • Creating more blogs

  • Running google, youtube and native ads

  • Buying solo ads

  • Building a personal brand

  • Answering questions on quora

  • Launch jacking

  • Creating products

  • Buying PLR products

  • Doing SEO

  • Ran an agency…

The list goes on…

When I went ‘all in’ on my agency and quit my job around this time in 2017, I had one client.

That one client paid me $1k per month.

I intended to build upon that and I did, until…

My major client owed me around $18k just before Christmas 2018. I had been working 12-15 hour days in the lead up and expected a nice cheque to arrive just prior to the silly season.

It never came and the company went into financial difficulty.

Credit to them as they came good later the next year..

In the meantime, I decided to pivot my business back into affiliate marketing.

My logic was I would not be at the mercy of clients choosing not to pay me after I’d done the work.

I’m going somewhere with this story by the way….

The start was rough.

At my peak I was;

  • Going live in 4 different groups everyday as well as…

  • Producing a YT vid everyday as well as….

  • Writing to two different email lists everyday as well as…

  • Answering questions on quora every second day as well as…

  • Writing to two chatbot lists each day as well as…

  • Starting a facebook group

  • Managing ads for my last few clients

  • Posting on twitter, Instagram, pinterest, facebook pages…

  • Writing on medium (again)…

The reason I mention all this is because I was doing too much to make any money.

I hit a couple of $2k months and I was burnt out and exhausted.

One of the catalysts for me hitting $1k days, then $5k days, then $15k+ days was simplification.

I needed to remove so many layers of what I was doing and focus on the few things that were going to move the needle so to speak.

I went through a painful process of ditching almost everything.

I changed from low ticket offers to a high ticket offer that paid me $1,000 for every sale I made.

I had a simple conversion mechanism which has since evolved to where I don’t take sales calls and have a completely free calendar each day of each week.

I ditched all but one of my traffic sources and I leveraged my 14 years of corporate sales experience to develop a simple, stress free approach to audience building and….

Lo and behold, the whole thing worked.

Well.

In fact, it took just 7 days from me ‘letting go’ of all the ‘stuff’ to finally hit my first $1,00 day online.

It wasn’t a fluke.

Another landed the next day.

I hit my first $10k month and have since scaled to as much as $53k months as well as winning awards for surpassing $1mil online…

917+ students.

Hundreds of success stories.

Millions in revenue for my students and my students’ students at this stage.

The first coaching offer I ever did was for something which paid me $18 per month.

I offered unlimited access to me and even gave away my phone number so my client could keep in touch.

I realised this was a flawed system and I bravely put up my price one day.

I didn’t need the money, so I put a price tag of $1,000 on it.

I sold 7 spots for 6 weeks of coaching.

Next, I sold spots for $2k, then $3k, then $5k, $7.5k and finally $9800 pay in full or $1500 each month.

This came from three things.

  1. Knowing the value in what I provide and holding true to that value.

  2. Getting amazing results for my students.

  3. Snowballing my own results and the results of my students to increase my skillset and market value.

I would also say, having an abundant approach to my business and not ‘needing’ the sales has also played a massive part in it as well.

Where am I going with all this stuff?

Well, I noticed a recent pattern emerging for me.

Once again I had put too much on my plate with multiple offers and programs and containers all around the internet I was managing.

It was tough.

I felt burnt out and I started to realise my cushy income was sliding downwards.

It wasn’t fun.

But….

It was the wakeup call I needed to ‘get my sh*t together’ and make a change.

I’m rebranding all my programs into one amazing product called Monetise Your Tribe which will house some amazing training showing folks how to install my ‘No Call Conversion System™’ in their business and scale to $10k - $30k months without setters, closers or managing a big team.

So the lesson in all this is…

Always ask how you can simplify and reduce.

If you’re not hitting your income goals online, it may be as simple as reducing the ‘stuff’ you have to do in your business.

Now days I have just a couple of tasks each day that brings in daily buyers.

There is an entire world of opportunity out there with the right systems and guidance.
